Research & Development

Research & Development

At the Financial Wellbeing Lab, we are committed to providing support based on robust empirical evidence. Our own research is an important part of this process.
There has been a great deal of research into workplace wellbeing and financial wellbeing over the past few decades. Even the definition of financial wellbeing continues to evolve. We do know that the weight of evidence highlights three core elements that can improve financial wellbeing and reduce associated stress. These include day to day control over finances, dealing with change and the unexpected, and having confidence now, and into the future.

Using the most up-to-date learning techniques, we deliver interactive workshops aimed at developing the three core elements of financial wellbeing. We empower participants to take the next steps towards good financial outcomes.

The research also indicates that financial literacy makes little difference to creating good financial behaviours. We promise that we will always follow the evidence with the sole aim of delivering effective learning experiences. We are not a tick-box solution to a company wellbeing program; we are here to make a real difference.

Ongoing Research Process

Ongoing Research Process

Empirical research is at the heart of everything that we do at the lab.
We are committed to undertaking research into financial wellbeing and our training process ensures that we are continually building up valuable data for ongoing research projects.

Whilst we are carrying out our own research, we are always keen to extend our links with Universities and Policy Institutes. We are also always looking to offer post-graduate level students the opportunity to develop a better understanding of financial wellbeing through funded research projects.

 Workplace Workshops & Support

Because our research team are qualified at post-graduate level in education and psychology, they know how to critically evaluate the peer-reviewed evidence behind financial wellbeing.

We do things very differently and only rely on delivering information and advice based on genuine evidence we can trust. We are also part of this effort in that we are involved in the ongoing research process.
Our unique design and delivery approach is contributing to a greater understanding of what financial wellbeing means and how it can be improved for an individual and the community they live and work in.

It’s all about genuinely “giving back control"
